GARDEN ROOM

All of our Garden Rooms are constructed from Siberian Spruce timber using an interlocking plank style. We use a double tongue and groove ‘wind lock’ system on our 35mm, 45mm and twin skin buildings, which provides a natural barrier to the elements. Should a 45mm building be your thickness choice, you can enjoy 24mm double glazing as standard.

DELIVERY

We strive to deliver your cabin on a day that is suitable to you and we hand deliver all of our buildings and materials as close as possible to the installation site and DO NOT leave your garden room or any materials at the roadside.

Delivery is included in all Johnsons packages, providing you are within a 50 mile radius of a Johnsons branch. Find your nearest branch here.

FULL CONSTRUCTION

At Johnsons we only use our own fitting teams and DO NOT use outside contractors, like a lot of our competitors. You can be sure our experienced fitters will be committed to providing a complete service and leaving you 100% satisfied on completion.

ALL of our cabins come with full construction included, so sit back and enjoy the hassle-free experience, as our specialist installation teams will see your project through from start to finish within as little as one or two days.

FELT SHINGLE ROOF

Our attractive felt shingle roof is available in a choice of three colours green, charcoal grey and red. This roof covering gives you all the water proofing qualities of standard felt but with the added benefit of being much easier on the eye.

STRUCTURAL TIMBER BASE

All good quality buildings require a firm and level foundation to maximise their lifespan. We here at Johnsons recommend a structural timber basework (‘STB’). Constructed from pressure treated and tanalised timber this base adopts a ‘Post & Beam’ design and are concreted into the ground at multiple points. The end result is a very robust and level foundation, professionally installed with little or no groundwork required and importantly allowing sufficient air circulation under the building.

To add to this ALL of our installed buildings will have either a damp proof course or damp proof membrane between the base and the cabin itself. You’ll be hard pushed to find another supplier that provides these services and techniques.

PRESERVATION PAINT

The final look of your garden room is important, so taking your time in choosing your preferred colour and finish is essential. We offer two types of paint treatment finishes (solid & translucent) both with the same level of protection and both being oil based. Our sales consultants are always happy to answer any questions you may have throughout the selection process and can advise the best way to apply the treatment.

The paint we specially supply is highly recommended and will give you up to 5 years protection against the elements before needing a recoating. Please note that the preservation paint is on SUPPLY ONLY basis.

ROOF INSULATION

Should you want to use your garden room all year round we would suggest having our insulation options. Roof insulation has a dual purpose, keeping you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. 25mm Celotex is fitted onto the roof boards and then secured, sandwiched between sheets of 9mm exterior plywood and our 19mm roof boards and underlay to ensure your garden room is kept watertight. Then finished perfectly with your felt shingles.

FLOOR INSULATION

Floor insulation essentially helps to maintain the heat of your garden room in the winter. Our insulation options entail 25mm Celotex insulation ‘hidden’ under solid timber 28mm tongue and groove floorboards, with a layer of DPC (Damp Proof Course) or DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) underneath. Providing a desired warmer room underfoot, perfect for those chillier Autumn or Winter evenings.

LAMINATE FLOORING

Laminate flooring is a very practical solution for the easy maintenance of your garden room floor and provides an extra layer of protection and warmth under foot. We offer a standard oak colour finish or you can upgrade to our superior grey coloured laminate. Unsurprisingly this option has become a very popular option, especially for use in home offices and gyms, leaving a nice easy to clean finish.

ELECTRICAL PACKAGES

At Johnsons we offer  4 different electrical packages, all of which are installed and checked by a qualified and experienced electrician. Each package is designed to suit the usual requirements based on a particular size or style of your chosen garden room. All exterior power cables will be in armoured cable and interior power cables in white cable trunking.

All electrical packages are installed and checked by our own Johnsons qualified and experienced electrician. We take care of the whole electrics process, not just the internal elements of the cabin but all external elements (from cabin to electrical source*).

CLIMATE CONTROL

Whatever the weather, enjoy a stable temperature. Our climate control units are very quiet in operation and economical to run, with some models being up to 600% efficient. Our units are based on the latest air-source heat pump technology and are the perfect companion to your Johnsons Garden Building. All of our units are professionally installed and guaranteed. Every model comes with timer and thermostat controlled as standard.

STEPS, CLADDING, DECKING AND MORE...

Johnsons can also supply and install quality timber decking, verandas, steps, base cladding and balustrading. Extend out the front of your new garden room with an attractive decking platform, finished with post and rope balustrades. You may also wish for us to clad any base framework for you. Free quotations are available on request and our prices are very reasonable compared to out-sourcing to builders or landscapers.
