POSITION: Accounts Assistant

LOCATION: Sarre nr. Canterbury

Johnsons Leisure Ltd is the UK’s leading supplier of top-quality Garden Buildings as well as Hot-Tubs, Outdoor Living, Pet Supplies and Luxury Home Interiors.  We are a family run business with over 160 staff, and we are proud to have a diverse, varied and extremely talented workforce.

We are actively seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the Johnsons family.

The focus of this role will be dealing with the sales ledger, however the right candidate would have the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Manager in preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and other interesting and varied accounting-based tasks and reports.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar role, with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. You must have strong IT skills with a confident approach to your duties and whilst undertaking a multitude of tasks.

 

You will be based at our fantastic new Head Offices in Sarre, Kent, and due to our location, a full UK driving licence is desirable with access to your own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Ledger – Invoicing, aged debt, reporting, credit checks.
  • Banking – BACS/Cheques, credit card processing and cash reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate records of cash reconciliation activities.
  • To undertake daily/weekly posting of sales information.
  • Demonstrate accurate input, investigate and resolve reconciliation issues in a timely manner, escalating internally where required.
  • Seek to identify process improvements and implement.
  • To undertake varied and general administrative tasks as required, ensuring that they are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • To undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed to ensure the smooth running of
    the office and to support the growth and success of the business.

Key Skills and experience:

  • Sage Account knowledge.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly Excel).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Committed team player
  • Trustworthy, diligent, self-motivated and self-disciplined.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.

The Package:

  • Full Time, Mon-Fri, 08.30 – 17:00.
    £18,000 – £21,000 dependant on experience.
  • 28 days holiday per annum (incl bank holidays).
  • Company pension scheme.

POSITION: Painter & Decorator

LOCATION: Various

Johnsons Garden Buildings are the Souths largest independent retailer and installer of top-quality garden rooms and timber buildings. We currently have 13 display villages, all situated in busy garden centres across Kent, Surrey, Essex, London and Hampshire exhibiting our vast range of our popular garden buildings.

Due to continuous expansion and growth we are looking to recruit two painters/decorators, one Kent/Surrey/Hampshire areas and another for Essex/Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire areas.

The successful individuals will be required to paint and carry out maintenance on our timber buildings across all current and future sites to ensure they are kept in excellent condition, you will also be expected to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of our various offices.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to have the ability to work on your own and as part of a team, display a good attitude towards both colleagues and customers and have a strong work ethic.

 

Key Skills

  • Previous Painting & Decorating experience
  • DIY/General Maintenance skills
  • Full driving licence
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and take pride in your work

 

Package

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday 7.30am – 5.00pm
  • Tools and materials supplied
  • Competitive Salary depending on experience

POSITION: Assistant Branch Manager

LOCATION: Wickford, Essex

Johnsons Garden Buildings are the leading retailer of top quality, fully installed Garden Rooms and Hot Tubs in the South of England.

 

What we are looking for:

We require a confident, energetic and positive salesperson to assist our Branch Manager at our beautiful Garden Room Display Village in a busy location near Wickford, Essex.

You would be expected to optimise your branch’s sales leads, offering customers an unrivalled product and customer service which would include booking home site visits as part of the process.

You must be proactive, results driven and due to the branch being open seven days a week, be flexible regarding working Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Experience in the Home Improvement Industry (or similar) would be ideal but not essential.

You will need a full UK driving licence.

POSITION: Branch Sales Assistant

LOCATION: Thurrock, Essex

Johnsons Garden Buildings are the leading retailer of top quality, fully installed Garden Rooms and Hot Tubs in the South of England.

 

What we are looking for:

We require a confident, energetic and positive part-time salesperson in our beautiful Garden Room Display Village in a busy location in South Ockenden, near Thurrock.

Working within a small sales team, you would be expected to identify and follow up all sales opportunities, actively managing sales leads and reporting on all outcomes. This would be from the initial qualification of a customer’s requirements through to the provision of an estimate and finally arranging a home site visit for the Branch Manager.

You must be proactive, results driven and due to the branch being open seven days a week, be flexible regarding working Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Experience in the Home Improvement Industry (or similar) would be ideal but not essential as full training will be given.

POSITION: Garden Room Installers

LOCATION: Gillingham, Kent

Should you be successful in applying, you will be working as part of our fitting team, installing our garden buildings across the south east and beyond. As the role requires a plethora of skills, full training will be provided.

POSITION: Handyperson & Delivery Driver

LOCATION: Chestfield nr. Whitstable

We are actively seeking an experienced Handyperson & Delivery Driver to join the Visual Roars family.

Visual Roars Interiors is an established furniture and homeware store based in Chestfield, Whitstable. POSITION: Marketing Assistant

LOCATION: Sarre nr. Canterbury

You’ll need to be a strong and confident writer, with a willingness to be flexible and the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.  You should have an understanding of how brands use words and ideas to influence how consumers perceive them; and the passion to build on this knowledge.

You will be helping to create relevant and engaging content and will support the Marketing team in all facets of their day to day operations.

 

Duties:

  • Provide writing support to Marketing – from emails and social ads to brochures and webpages.
  • Edit and proofread online and offline copy across the business.
  • Provide general administration support to the Marketing Team in its various guises.


Experience and skills:

  • Excellent copywriting skills and grammar.
  • 1-2 years marketing experience desirable.
  • Educated to a high level in English.
  • Creative with excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing and administration skills with a great eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle various projects at once to meet the demands of the business.

  • £17k-20k depending on experience.

POSITION: Finance and Accounts Manager

LOCATION: Sarre nr. Canterbury

We are actively seeking an experienced Finance & Accounts Manager to join the Johnsons family.

The right applicant will manage a very strong and capable finance and accounts team and will report regularly to the MD and designated company officers, overseeing a wide range of duties and responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Supervising the daily administration of the accounts & finance team including all financial and accounting operations.
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed within a timely manner and in accordance to company policy.
  • Implementing and ensuring the necessary accounts controls are in place.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
  • Making sure invoices are processed and paid within agreed deadlines and payment terms.
  • Approval of invoices for posting and payment.
  • Regular reviewing and reporting on purchasing costs.
  • Provide cover for other roles within the finance team as and when necessary.
  • Regular review of systems to streamline processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Regular reporting to the financial controller and managing director.
  • Assisting with month-end reporting.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
  • Other adhoc reporting or associated work as and when required.

 

You must have strong finance capabilities and experience, with the ability to manage a team efficiently and effectively. Good organisational and communication skills are a must. Ideally experience of Sage, Excel and other Microsoft products. Qualified with ACA ACCA CIMA or AAT is desirable, but experience and ambition is essential!
