Johnsons Garden Buildings are Kent’s largest independent retailer and installer of top quality log cabins and timber buildings. We currently have 12 display villages, all situated in busy garden centres across Kent, Surrey, Essex, London and Hampshire exhibiting our vast range of our popular garden buildings. We specialise in offering our customers the perfect space solution, whether it’s for a home office, family chill out room, gym or even the more traditional summerhouse.

POSITION: Garden Room Installers

LOCATION: Chelsmford

Johnsons Leisure, the UK’s leading supplier of top-quality garden buildings, are opening a brand new, industry leading, retail and distribution centre in Chelmsford. This expansion will offer exciting employment opportunities for the right candidates to join our installation teams and become integral to the continued growth of our brand.

Successful applicants will be working as part of a team to install our garden buildings to customers across the Home Counties. Full training will be given as the role will involve a varied range of construction techniques, from groundwork through to the finishing touches which make our buildings suitable for a multitude of purposes and concepts.

Johnsons offer great rates of pay and attractive bonus and pension schemes and these are full-time, permanent positions with the full range of benefits you would expect from a market leader. Furthermore, Johnsons offer a comprehensive programme of progression and advancement with many of our management team having been recruited internally from ‘shop-floor’ positions.

We are initially recruiting ten installers and we expect these positions to be filled quickly so ensure you put yourself at the front of the queue for this exciting opportunity.

 

Key Requirements

  • Groundwork and / or carpentry experience an advantage but not essential
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Pride in your quality and finish of work
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Full driving license essential, as is your own vehicle for your home to work commute
  • BE Towing Licence is preferred but training can be given

 

The Package

  • Full Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday
  • Uniform and correct PPE supplied
  • All necessary tools and equipment provided
  • Full induction programme provided
  • 28 days paid holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
  • Company vehicle supplied for business use
  • Salary from £18,322 to £35,000 per annum subject to experience and bonuses

POSITION: Aftersales Administrator

LOCATION: Gillingham

Johnsons Leisure, the UK’s leading supplier of top-quality garden buildings, are looking to recruit dedicated administrative staff to work within our busy and dynamic Aftersales office in Gillingham.

Successful applicants will be working as part of a team to ensure that our operations run as smoothly as possible from an administrative point of view so that our customers have an exemplary experience throughout the whole of their journey with us.

Candidates will need to have a proven track record and aptitude for administrative processes and great communication skills in both the written and verbal sense. You will be interacting with our customers by telephone and email and liaising with our extensive and experienced management team to bring about logistical solutions to the everyday needs of our customers.

The positions will suit applicants who are looking for an ‘entry level’ position in an established company that continues to expand and offer opportunities for advancement to the right people. Johnsons often fast tracks suitable people to management positions so this opportunity could be a stepping stone to a long and fulfilling career.

POSITION: Sales Executive

LOCATION: Farnham Display Village

Are you an experienced Retail Salesperson who is looking for your next challenge?

We are currently looking for an individual to join our unique display village to assist the Branch manager in selling a wide variety of garden rooms, along with a fantastic range of hot tubs, swim spas and accessories.

The ideal candidate will have previous Sales and Customer service experience with dealing with the public face to face and building relationships with a wide range of people along with a successful track record of achieving targets.

You will be passionate, enthusiastic and be of a fun and friendly personality who is driven and motivated to promote and sell a superior and desirable product for an innovative and forward-thinking company.

POSITION: Yard Person

LOCATION: Chelmsford

Johnsons Leisure, the UK’s leading supplier of top-quality garden buildings, are opening a brand new, industry leading, retail and distribution centre in Chelmsford. This expansion will offer exciting employment opportunities for the right candidate to join our growing team as a Yard Person and become integral to the continued growth of our brand.

On a day to day basis the successful applicant will be required to oversee our satellite distribution centre at Chelmsford. Day to day duties will include organising and stock controlling the depot, fleet logistic management duties including loading and unloading vehicles and trailers in a timely manner and the implementation of a comprehensive waste management programme.

 

Experience Required

  • Forklift licence is essential
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy objects
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Stock control and stock taking
  • Computer literacy
  • Driving licence is essential due to the nature of this role

 

This is a Permanent, full time position and the working hours would be Monday to Friday, £7.83 per hour

POSITION: General Assistant

LOCATION: Chestfield nr. Whitstable

We are currently looking for a General Assistant to join our well established and friendly team here at Johnsons Leisure.

The suitable individual will have the ability to cover different areas in our outlet, these consist of the garden centre, pet shop and Aquatics and you will be expected to work where required on a day to day basis.

The ideal candidate would have previously worked in a customer facing role and have till operation experience as predominantly this will be one of your main day to day duties.

Working hours would be Thursday to Saturday, 9.30am until 5.30pm, with the option for overtime as and when it arises.
