Johnsons Garden Buildings are Kent’s largest independent retailer and installer of top quality garden rooms and timber buildings. We currently have 14 display villages, all situated in busy garden centres across Kent, Surrey, Essex, London and Hampshire exhibiting our vast range of our popular garden buildings. We specialise in offering our customers the perfect space solution, whether it’s for a home office, family chill out room, gym or even the more traditional summerhouse.

Johnsons Leisure is England’s leading supplier of top-quality Garden Rooms, Hot-Tubs and other Premium Home and Leisure products. We operate from 20 business premises with over 150 employees.

We are a robust customer facing company, offering longevity and career advancement prospects and we are looking for a Yard Manager to work at our site in Sarre, Kent.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate, and you must be hardworking, honest and trustworthy. You will take pride in your ability to be organised and self-motivated, being able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • All elements of yard stock control.
  • Maintain general housekeeping duties within the yard including stock rotation, cleanliness, tidiness and compliance with Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that all staff coming in and out of the yard are following and adhering to daily duties.
  • You will be responsible for the security of the yard and making sure that all staff and visitors adhere to the appropriate Health & Safety procedures.
  • All yards are Covid-19 Secure, and you must oversee the continued success of our Covid-19 strategy.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles and trailers.
  • Prioritise work to complete it in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate to continue to run a successful operation.

 

Skills

  • Forklift licence is essential.
  • Previous yard experience is essential.
  • Trailer licence preferable.
  • 2 years supervisor/manager experience desirable.
  • Construction background would be preferable.
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre large objects.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and positive.
  • Honest & Trustworthy.
  • Punctual & reliable.

 

The Package

  • Full time – 6.30am to 4.30pm – Monday to Friday
  • Salary – £10 per hour
  • 28 days paid holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
  • All uniform provided
  • Due to our location a full UK driving licence is essential with access to your own vehicle

We are a robust customer facing company, offering longevity and career advancement prospects and looking for a Site Maintenance Operative to maintain our beautiful Garden Building Village at Country Markets in Bordon, just 6 miles from Farnham.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for DIY and take great pride in their work, they will not be averse to giving the buildings a lick of paint or turning their hand to carpentry or sign erection.  They will be responsible for maintaining the site, clearing debris and doing light repairs where necessary.

Uniform, all tools and materials will be supplied. You must be well presented at all times, with a friendly and good-natured personality as engagement with customers and staff will be a daily occurrence. This job will be perfect for someone with the right temperament that enjoys being able to see the fruit of their labour at the end of a busy day.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all routine and scheduled maintenance of buildings.
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Perform renovation and maintenance work and upgrades as directed including painting and carpentry.
  • Prioritise work to complete it in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Complete daily work log and submit weekly to the manager.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Skills

  • Experience in maintenance is essential.
  • Experience in carpentry is desirable.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Friendly disposition with a positive outlook.

The Package

  • Average of 24 hours per week, 6 hours a day minimum, flexible hours.
  • Salary – £9 per hour.
  • Paid holiday.
  • All uniform provided.
  • All tools and materials provided.
  • A full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle is essential.

We require a confident, energetic, and positive Assistant Branch Sales Manager to assist our Branch Sales Manager at our display showroom in Wickford, Essex.

Working within a small sales team, you would be expected to optimise your branch’s sales leads, offering customers an unrivalled product and customer service.

You must be proactive, results driven and due to the branch being open seven days a week, be flexible regarding working Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays.

Experience in the Home Improvement Industry (or similar) would be ideal but not essential.
