Johnsons Garden Buildings are Kent’s largest independent retailer and installer of top quality log cabins and timber buildings. We currently have 10 display villages, all situated in busy garden centres across Kent and Essex, exhibiting our vast range of our popular garden buildings. We specialise in offering our customers the perfect space solution, whether it’s for a home office, family chill out room, gym or even the more traditional summerhouse.

Johnsons strives to provide the highest quality service possible for customers from start to finish. This applies to installation teams, yard staff, sales, after-sales and also importantly the cabins themselves.

Johnsons continues to expand, within the last 12 months alone has seen the introduction of 3 new display villages in Kent & Essex as well as a new eCommerce facility offering its services online. Plans for growth across the rest of the United Kingdom continue, so watch this space.

POSITION: Assistant Branch Manager

LOCATION: Polhill Garden Centre, Sevenoaks

Due to continuous expansion and growth they are looking to recruit a professional sales person to assist the Branch Sales Manager in their busy display village at Polhill Garden Centre in Sevenoaks.

 

The Role:

Based at our Polhill Display Village, your day to day responsibilities will be assisting the Branch Sales Manager to achieve branch sales targets whilst ensuring the highest standards of customer service are delivered.

This will include identifying and following up all sales opportunities, actively managing sales leads and reporting on all outcomes. This would be from the initial qualification of a customer’s requirements through to the provision of an estimate, arranging a site visit and then ensuring that the installation process is a smooth one.

  • Sales experience is essential but full product training is given
  • Highly self-motivating individual who thrives on delivering the best customer service while achieving their set goals
  • Ability to work on your own initiative to achieve sales targets
  • Confident manner and ideally some experience in selling to the public
  • Excellent time management
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Full driving license and own transport

The Package:

£21,136 per annum plus uncapped commission, OTE £26,000

POSITION: Weekend & Part-time Showroom Sales Executive (2 Positions)

LOCATION: Maidstone Display village, Newnham Court Shopping Village.

Due to continuous expansion and growth they are looking to recruit 2 weekend and part-time showroom Sales Executives in their busy display village at Notcutts Garden Centre near Maidstone.


Department:
Hot-Tubs & Garden Rooms

 

The Role:

Excellent opportunity for an individual to start their sales career in a forward thinking and expanding company delivery the highest standards of customer service. Alternatively, a seasoned sales person looking to reduce their workload.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs advantageous.

2 positions are available on a flexible basis to accommodate weekend and busy weekday periods.


The Package:

Salary: £8.00 per hour plus generous sales incentives / commissions.

  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook due to the process and procedures in place
  • Full driving license required and own car essential

The Package:

Salary: £21,000 – £30,000 per annum OTE
Hours: Full Time

POSITION: Labourers / Installers

LOCATION: Kent

Due to continuous expansion and growth we are looking to recruit new labourers to join our Installations Team.

 

The Role:

Based from our Depot in Gillingham you will be working as part of a team to install our garden buildings to customers across the South East. Building our cabins from a set of detailed plans, this involves the initial groundwork preparation and construction of a structural timber base, installation of the initial floor bearers through to the interlocking timber walls, installation of doors and window units and roof finishing. Additional options such as floor and roof insulation, laminate flooring and additional decking and decorative finishes are also installed where required. Every day is different so the ability to adapt to different environments, working conditions and locations is key. Occasional overnight stays will be required with accommodation and essential expenses provided.

 

Key Skills:

  • Groundwork and / or carpentry experience an advantage but not essential
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Pride in your quality and finish of work
  • To communicate professionally with customers
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Full driving license essential, as is your own vehicle for your home to work commute
  • BE Towing license preferable but not essential

 

The Package:

  • Full Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday
  • Uniform and correct PPE supplied
  • All necessary tools and equipment provided
  • Full induction programme provided
  • 28 days paid holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
  • Company vehicle supplied for business use
  • Salary from minimum wage to £33,000 per annum subject to experience, including bonuses
