We currently have 12 display villages, all situated in busy garden centres across Kent, Surrey, Essex, London and Hampshire exhibiting our vast range of our popular garden buildings. POSITION: GARDEN ROOM INSTALLERS (VARIOUS POSITIONS)

LOCATION: Based from our Gillingham Depot

Garden Room Installers

Johnsons Garden Buildings are the South East’s largest independent retailer and installer of top quality log cabins and timber buildings with display villages across Kent, Essex, Surrey, Hampshire & London.  We specialise in offering our customers the perfect space solution, whether it’s for a home office, family chill out room, gym or even the more traditional summerhouse.

Due to continuous expansion and growth we are looking to recruit new labourers to join our Installations Team.

You will be working as part of a team to install our garden buildings to customers across the Home Counties. Building our cabins from a set of detailed plans, this involves the initial groundwork preparation and construction of a structural timber base, installation of the initial floor bearers through to the interlocking timber walls, installation of doors and window units and roof finishing. Additional options such as floor and roof insulation, laminate flooring and additional decking and decorative finishes are also installed where required. Every day is different so the ability to adapt to different environments, working conditions and locations is key. Occasional overnight stays will be required with accommodation and essential expenses provided.

 

Key Requirements

  • Groundwork and / or carpentry experience an advantage but not essential
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Pride in your quality and finish of work
  • To communicate professionally with customers
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Full driving license essential, as is your own vehicle for your home to work commute
  • BE Towing license preferable but not essential

 

The Package

  • Full Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday
  • Uniform and correct PPE supplied
  • All necessary tools and equipment provided
  • Full induction programme provided
  • 28 days paid holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
  • Company vehicle supplied for business use
  • Salary from minimum wage to £33,000 per annum subject to experience, including bonuses

POSITION: Recruitment Administrator

LOCATION: Chestfield nr Whitstable

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Recruitment Administrator to join our exciting and innovative company. We are always on the lookout to recruit the brightest and best staff and using your knowledge and experience, you will source the right candidates and take them through the whole recruitment process to help drive the company forward.

You will be joining the HR team at our head office in Chestfield nr Whitstable, Kent. The office-based team are all very driven and hardworking and having the same values and wanting to be part of a team will be integral to your success within the role.

 

Key Requirements

  • Take complete ownership of the candidate journey
  • Writing and editing job adverts for approval and posting to various sources
  • Proactively sourcing candidates using a variety of methods, such as social media, job websites and networking etc
  • Handling all advert responses and queries in a timely manner
  • Filtering all application responses and using your experience and expertise to select the best for interview
  • Screening and assessment of all candidates via telephone or face to face interviews
  • Scheduling and co-ordination of all interviews, interfacing with candidates via phone & email in a friendly, professional & confident manner
  • Performing reference and background checks
  • Creating ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will drive the business forward and contribute to the long-term growth and development of the company
  • Producing relevant data and reports
  • Create, build and maintain a network of potential candidates through on-going relationship management

 

Experience and Skills; 

  • Proven experience in a recruitment role is essential
  • Knowledge of legislation around recruitment would be advantageous
  • Strong Interviewing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of the company
  • Good organisational skills
  • A methodical approach and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively handle and manage highly confidential information
  • A good working knowledge of HR and its processes is desirable
  • Proficient IT skills, especially Microsoft Office
  • Other ad-hoc administrative duties when needed
  • A positive attitude and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment

 

The Package

  • £19-21k dependant on experience
  • Full Time, Permanent Position
  • Monday to Friday 09:00am-05:30pm

POSITION: Projects Team

LOCATION: South East

In construction & looking for a new challenge?

Garden rooms are the extra space solution sweeping the country. Johnsons Garden Buildings are pioneers in this rapidly expanding market and the South East’s largest independent retailer.

To assist in our expansion programme, we are recruiting for passionate and enthusiastic labourers to join our Projects Team. You will be working as part of a team undertaking a variety of construction projects across our various sites.

Every day is different so the ability to adapt to different environments, working conditions and locations is key. Being able to work as part of an experienced team is essential but be able to work independently when required. Must have excellent communication skills and be reliable and motivated to work. Occasional overnight stays will be required with accommodation and essential expenses provided.
